Up, Down & Other Opposites

A colorful introduction to opposites, with a little art-world magic along the way. 🎨 Up, Down & Other Opposites pairs the bold paintings and sculptures of American artist Ellsworth Kelly to help little ones explore ideas like together and apart, full and empty, and vertical and horizontal.

Some pairings are exactly what you’d expect, while others offer a fun little surprise — encouraging kids to look closely and notice how shapes, colors and artwork can change the way we see the world.

Created in partnership with the Ellsworth Kelly Foundation, this playful board book introduces young readers to a celebrated artist while making a simple concept feel fresh and visually exciting. A lovely pick for little art lovers, curious minds and grown-ups who want to introduce children to modern art.
